Lady Raiders win, Red Raiders lose to Harris

On Monday night, Coffee County Middle School split their two games with Harris Middle School.

The Lady Raiders continued their undefeated start to the season with a win over the Eaglettes.

In the first quarter the Lady Raiders raced out to a 12-4 lead, but the Eaglettes outscored Coffee in the second quarter 11-8 and the Lady Raiders had a halftime lead of 20-15.

The Lady Raiders regained control in the third quarter and led the game 34-21 heading into the fourth.

However, the Eaglettes came storming back in the fourth quarter, and had cut the deficit to just four points midway through the quarter, but Coffee County was able to put them away and win 40-33.

Scoring for the Lady Raiders were Jenslee Nogodula with 13 points, Adalyn Clark with nine, Hayleigh Harris with eight, Kinsley Pruitt with six and Avery Pruitt with four.

Meanwhile, the Red Raiders racked up another loss.

Coffee County fell behind quickly as the Harris Eagles led 11-4 after the first quarter, then outscored the Red Raiders 10-0 in the second for a half time lead of 21-4. 

The Eagles remained in control through the third quarter, leading 29-9 going into the fourth.

The Red Raiders attempted a come-back, outscoring Harris 18-7 in the final frame, but it wouldn’t be enough as Coffee lost 36-27.

Scoring for the Red Raiders were Jaxon Pruitt with 17 points, Ethan Arnold with nine and Warren Simmons with one.

The next games for Coffee County Middle School will be Thursday, November 2 at West Tullahoma.
