The Westwood Lady Rockets were able to pick up their first win of the season on Monday night over the Liberty Patriots.

The Lady Rockets led 6-2 after the first quarter, then scored 15 points in the second, and led Liberty 21-9 at the half.

The Lady Rockets would never let up, outscoring the Patriots 13-9 in the third quarter, and cruising to a 47-32 win.

Scoring for the Lady Rockets were Allison Russ with 10, Jerzee Ferrell with nine, Maci Jackson with seven, Addi Teal and Amelia Johnson each with six, Carter Trail with five and Kylie Evans and Mia Ahlijah each had two. 

In the boys game, Westwood came out firing on all cylinders, leading liberty 29-5 after the first quarter.

The Rockets continued their torrent pace in the second quarter and led the Patriots 42-9 at the half.

From there, the Rockets decided to slow down, easing into a 48-20 win.

Scoring for the Rockets were Zeke Jones with 18, Kaden Ingle with 10, Mason Troxler with eight, Caleb Hill with seven, Isaiah Buchanan with three and Brady Christian with two. 

The next games for Westwood will be on Thursday, Nov. 2 at Community Middle School.
