Shooting at Manchester Ambassador Inn

A shooting at the Ambassador Inn Friday, Sept. 29 has left one individual dead and another in police custody.

Tauris Maymi, 30, has been charged with first degree murder, as of 6 p.m. Friday. 

Manchester Police Assistant Chief Adam Floied said at the scene that a currently unidentified adult male was found deceased at the hotel.

“The suspect is identified and is in custody,” Floied said. “This is still an active investigation.”

The incident occurred at a room nearest I-24 on Interstate Drive.

Floied said the scene is secure and any lockdowns are lifted.

Director of Coffee County School Dr. Charles Lawson said that Coffee County Raider Academy was put on soft lockdown and there was no indications of a threat around the school at any time.
