County corrections officer arrested in Texas child porn investigation

A Coffee County Sheriff’s Department corrections officer Robert Mitchell Reed, 20, was arrested on Friday, Aug. 11, in connection with an investigation initiated by the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office in Texas.
Reed, who resides in Tullahoma was arrested on five felony warrants for possession with intent to promote child pornography, according to the Coffee County Sheriff’s Department. Reed was hired by the sheriff’s office July 5, 2023 and fired Aug. 11 due to this investigation.
According to the investigation, these incidents occurred prior to his employment and while he was on leave of training with the Tennessee Army National Guard. Reed is being held on a $500,000 bond while awaiting extradition back to Texas to face these charges.
No other information is available at this time due to this being an ongoing investigation.
