Mr. Winfred Aaron Duke, age 83, passed peacefully in his sleep Saturday, March 11, 2023. Mr. Duke was born Feb. 1, 1940, in Coffee County, to the late Willie and Ruth Duke. Mr. Duke was a native of Coffee County and member of Main Street Church of Christ. Winfred was retired from the Coffee County School System after working there for more than 40 years. He enjoyed farming, working at Coffee County Funeral Chapel and Manchester Funeral Home, and owning and operating Barton Springs Grocery, which he did for many years. In addition to his parents, Winfred is proceeded in death by his wife of 51 years, Virginia Duke; brother, Donald Duke; and sister, Helen Kidd.

Mr. Duke is survived by daughters, Ramona Gray and Patty Duke; grandchildren, Colt (Miranda) Gray, Cara (Steven) Sipe, and Amber Duke; and 8 great grandchildren. Funeral services for Mr. Duke was held Wednesday, March 15, at 2 p.m. Visitation was held prior to the service, from 11 a.m. till 2 p.m.
