Coffee County Central High School student and Lady Raider basketball player Emaleigh Tarpley has signed her intent to play for Cumberland University. Cumberland University Women Basketball Head Coach Scott Blum said that Tarpley played excellent in the AAU Tournament in Louisville, Ky.

“She will bring her hard work and tenacity. The things that she does a lot of the times don’t show up on a scoreboard. She will take charge…her intensity and she’s a great teammate,” Blum said.

Blum noted that the team is losing about seven seniors and hopes that Tarpley will step in and help out.

Cumberland Senior Abby Morgan, a 1,000 point scorer while at CHS, is one of the players graduating this year.

Tarpley will enroll in the nursing program at Cumberland University.
