The Coffee County golf team kicked off its postseason with the TSSAA District 9 golf championship Monday.

Competing at Lakewood Golf & Country Club in Tullahoma, the Lady Raiders picked up a first-place finish in the team standings with a combined score of 187. Warren County followed with a team score of 205, with Shelbyville Central coming in third with a score of 253.

On the boys’ side, the Red Raiders finished with a combined score of 325 to take second place in the team standings. Lawrence County took the top spot in the boys’ team competition with a score of 320, while Tullahoma came in third with a team score of 335.

Individual results for the Coffee County girls’ team included an 89 for Karaline Matthews, putting her in first place as an individual as well. Karsyn Riddle added a score of 98 to wrap up the Lady Raiders’ team score, as well as secure an individual third-place finish.

Rounding out the girls’ top five individual scorers were the Warren County duo of Gabbi Molloy with a 96 and Lucy Mulligan with a 109 to take second and fourth, respectively, while Columbia Central’s Annie Hill took fifth place with a 110.

Individual scores for Coffee County were led by Carter Bell with a round of 76. Rylan Melson followed with a round of 81, with Levi Rossman adding an 83. Jaxon Phillips rounded out the Red Raiders’ team score with an 85.

After tying at 76 with the Lawrence County pair of Dalton McCawley and Jake Moore, as well as Tullahoma’s Alex Miller, Bell went to a playoff to determine the individual boys’ district champion, where he placed second.
