Carolyn Faye Bassett, age 77, of Manchester, passed away on March 23, 2026 at Ascension St. Thomas Riverpark Hospital. Born on July 14, 1948 in McMinnville, she was a retired employee from Carrier and MedRide, and a member of Faith Free Will Baptist Church, and Gold Wing Road Riders Chapter Y. She had an unconditional love for her puppy dog. Carolyn had a big heart and wanted to make sureveryone’s needs were met before her own. She cherished time spent with her family, most of all her daughter and granddaughters. She enjoyed going to lunch with her dear girlfriends and church ladies, always sharing an abundance of laughter. Carolyn had a personality that everyone loved to be around and her smile would light up a room. She was well-known and her legacy of love will continue to shine. Her husband lovingly referred to her as “doll.” Survivors include her “girls” Noell Brown, Laura-Lyn (Preston) Moore, and Jamie Karole (Brooks) Crutchfield, children Tony Bassett and Shelia Marie (Mitch), grandchildren Karmen (Ken) Buchanan and Reba Patterson, and her great grandchildren Hunter (Brooke), Lakelyn, Mattalyn, Braxton, Elijah, Christopher, Ronan, Acelyn, Isabella, Brooks, KJ, Kayden, Kenzlie, Caycen, Isbell, and Brycen. Special friends Brian and Nikki, Cathy Cagle, Marsha Jackson, Susan George, Terri Long, her church ladies and church family, and her beloved dog, Della also survive. She is preceded in death by her father, mother Elizabeth Newby Chastain, her husband Andy Wade Bassett, and her daughter Carolee Boyd. Funeral service was at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 26, in the McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was at Forest Mill Cemetery. The family received friends Wednesday from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Thursday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at McMinnville Funeral Home.
