BRAMBLETT

James “Jim” Lacy Bramblett, age 82, of Hillsboro, Tennessee, passed away at his home early Sunday morning, March 22, 2026. A man deeply rooted in service, hard work, and faith, Jim cherished his family and friends above all else. A lifelong cowboy, he left a lasting impact on countless people within the horse industry. Born Aug. 28, 1943, in Morrison, to Wendell and Maultie Bramblett, Jim was always proud of his Tennessee heritage, a huge University of Tennessee Volunteers fan. He graduated from Coffee County High School in 1961. Jim served his country with honor, retiring from the U.S. Air Force after 20 years, including service in Southeast Asia during the Vietnam War. While in the service, Jim served numerous short tours all over the world. Following his military career, he was a Supervisor at Arnold Air Force Base for over 26 years. A lifelong horseman, Jim trained and showed quarter horses on the AQHA and NRHA circuits. One of his proudest accomplishments was earning his National Reining Horse Association judge’s card, which allowed him to travel to horse shows across the country doing what he loved. When he wasn’t working with horses, Jim enjoyed spending time restoring cars and golfing. He also coached men’s league softball and little league baseball teams. Firmly grounded in his faith, he was an active member of Hillsboro Methodist Church as a Lay Leader and Sunday School supervisor. He was a devoted Christian and helped lead many young people to Christ. He was also a proud member of Hillsboro Masonic Lodge 382. Jim is preceded in death by his parents; his son Jimmy Bramblett; daughter Leesa Raaum; brother John Bramblett; sisters Helen (Meade) Brown, Wynella (Chuck) Badgett, and Carolyn (John) Powers; and brother-in-law Joe Elam. He is survived by his loving wife, Betty Bramblett; sister Bridie Elam; sons Jason (Rachel) Bramblett, Justin (Melissa) Bramblett, Mike Pressley, and Jerry “Scooter” Thiesse; and grandchildren Trenton Pressley, Madison Bramblett, Jake Raaum, Carson Bramblett, Kendall Palmer, Charlee Palmer, Quinn Palmer, Devan Guthrie, Austin Thiesse, and Tyler Thiesse.
