Thompson Lowe signs with Motlow for cross country

W hile his time in high school may be coming to an end, Thompson Lowe has not reached the finish line of his running career yet.
Lowe signed his national letter of intent to continue his academic and athletic careers at Motlow State Community College Thursday, where he will be a member of the cross country team. Lowe’s signing was held in the Coffee County Central High School library with family, coaches and teammates in attendance.
“I’m really excited,” Lowe said. “There’s a lot of opportunities that I feel like I’ve missed, but I feel like this is one that I’m happy to take advantage of and utilize.”
Lowe plans to pursue a degree in criminal justice with the goal of becoming a park ranger. As far as what made Motlow stand out as a place to run at the next level, Lowe said that one of the primary factors in his decision-making was the Motlow athletics logo itself.
“To be completely honest, I like the mascot,” Lowe said. “I like the buck a lot.”
Lowe added that he was thankful for the Coffee County program for helping him get to this point.
“My coach, Matt Rossman. Really all of my teammates. They’re all great, they’re great people,” Lowe said. “Never a non-positive thought from them.”
