It is with great sadness we announce that Jesse E. Bray, 84, of Manchester, joined the God he loved on Wednesday, April 1, 2026. Jesse was born in Glasgow, KY, on Feb. 7, 1942, to Walter and Clara Reece Bray. Jesse was known for his quick wit, hard work, and dedication to the Lord Jesus Christ. He was, in the truest sense, a “self-made” man. Jesse believed in a tenacious work ethic which led him to become a Regional Communications Manager at cSX Railroad, with 33 years of dedicated service. Firmly grounded in his faith, he was an active member of First Baptist Manchester. Jesse was a devoted husband to Carole, his wife of 62 years. He was a loving father to his son Jay Bray (Holly), and his daughters Carrie Sailors (Scott) and Christina Chisom (Kevin), He was the proud grandfather to nine grandchildren: Clara (Bradley), Kirby, Neva, Calder, Erika (deceased), Michael (Emalee), Jesse, and twins, Lucile and Lillian Jesse is preceded in death by his parents; his sister Dorothy Perkins, and his brother William Paul Bray. He also leaves behind many other cherished family members and dear friends. The family welcomes all who wish to celebrate the life of Jesse Bray to visitation on Saturday, April 11, from 1-3 p.m. at First Baptist Manchester, with the service to follow.
