CCMS softball claims district championship

The Coffee County Middle School softball team won its district tournament title game in dominant fashion Thursday evening.

Hosting Lewisburg, the Lady Raiders jumped ahead early and cruised to a 10-2, five-inning victory. With the win, Coffee County secured an undefeated record in district play for the 2026 season and improved to 15-6 overall.

The Lady Raiders finished the game with 15 hits, led by Addie Haley and Liberty Hill with three each. Britlyn Jones, Izzie Haines, Aubrey Brown and Kayda Ferrell each added two hits. Siri Cruz had one hit.

Haines led the way in RBI with three of the team’s nine. Jones followed with two. Haley, Hill, Brown and Amaya Campbell had one RBI each.

Campbell went the distance in the circle, striking out seven and holding Lewisburg to three hits and two runs across all five innings.

TUESDAY, APRIL 28 RESULTS Middle School Softball


Coffee County 4, Tullahoma 3

Coffee County continued its postseason journey with a come-from-behind win last Tuesday evening.

Taking on rival Tullahoma, the Lady Raiders trailed 1-0 after five innings but battled back late to walk it off in the bottom of the seventh to complete the comeback.

Coffee County finished the game with six hits, including one each for Hill, Campbell, Jones, Haines, Brown and Kalli Byers.

Hill, Campbell, Jones and Ferrell each had one RBI for a team total of four.

Cruz got it started in the circle, coming out after five innings with five strikeouts, three hits, one run and one walk. Up next was Campbell, who added one strikeout, five hits, two runs and one walk through the game’s remainder.

MONDAY, APRIL 27 RESULTS Middle School Softball


Coffee County 11, Harris 0

The Lady Raiders opened the district tournament with a three-and-ahalf inning home shutout last Monday.

Coffee County posted 13 hits over the course of the game, led by Hill and Campbell with three each. Byers followed with two. Haines, Cruz, Brown, Ferrell and Haley each had one hit.

Campbell led the team in RBI with three of its nine. Brown added two. Haines, Cruz, Byers and Ferrell all had one RBI each.

Cruz pitched a complete game, striking out six and holding Harris to one hit and two walks.

Tullahoma 18, Coffee County 8

The Red Raiders fell behind early on the way to a district tournament road loss to the Wildcats last Monday.

Braxton Swack was credited with two of Coffee County’s four hits. Tyce DePalma and Mason Floyd each had one hit.

Swack also led the way in RBI with three of the team’s six, finishing just ahead of Floyd with two. DePalma had one RBI.

Floyd got it started on the mound, coming off in the bottom of the second inning with one strikeout, three hits, eight runs and five walks. Swack took his place, finishing his night in the bottom of the fifth inning with five strikeouts, five hits, seven runs and six walks. Aiden Mc-Neese closed it out, adding three hits, three runs and three walks over the game’s remainder.

The loss put Coffee County at 7-10 on the season.

FRIDAY, APRIL 24 RESULTS Middle School Softball


Community 16, Westwood 3

The Lady Rockets fell on the road in three innings last Friday.

Westwood connected on six hits, led by Elly Wild with two. Izzy Sartain, Paisley Prater, Harper Hiles and Mc-Clayne Finch each had one hit.

Wild and McKenna Kehely each had one RBI for a team total of two.

Skyleigh Cooper pitched all three innings, wrapping it up with two strikeouts, 12 hits, 16 runs and two walks.

The loss dropped Westwood to 9-11 on the season.
