Billie Geraldine Martin, age 90, passed away on Jan. 1, 2023, at a private residence in Manchester. She was born in Co-Operative, KY, to Finis Burton and Myrtle Brock Ashburn, where she helped run the family’s boarding house as a young girl.  Mrs. Martin was an avid baker, loved to travel, and an excellent card player.  She was a woman of faith and attended Wards Chapel Church of Christ prior to her extended illness.  Billie “Boots” loved her family and will be greatly missed by us and also by her many friends.  In addition to her parents and 8 siblings, she was preceded in death by her son,  Phillip Martin.  Mrs. Martin is survived by her daughters, Billie Sue Spangler (Mac) and Teresa Martin Roberts (Harold); grandchildren Angela Epperson, Rene Beach, Julie Beach, Kelly Martin, Billy Pullins, Phillip Martin Jr, Jheri Renee Taylor, and Clark Martin; nine great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.  Her Celebration of Life will be Jan. 20, 2023, starting at 10am at the Manchester Senior Citizens Center on Woodbury Hwy.
