RYAN

Mr. Michael James Ryan, age 69, passed from this life Monday, Aug. 14, 2023, in Winchester. Mr. Ryan was born in Sycamore, Ill., to his late parents Robert Joseph Ryan and Annie Louise Butler. He and his wife, Virgie, were members of Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Decherd. In his free time, he enjoyed taking walks, walking his dog, hiking, fishing, and watching football and NASCAR. Mr. Ryan was a veteran of the United States Army. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Tom Ryan. Mr. Ryan is survived by his wife, Virgie Donayre Ryan; daughters, Heather (Roger) Wagoner, Sara (Allan) Bagley, and Michele (Don) Napier; brother, Joe (Judy) Ryan; grandchildren, Christian York, Serena Hill, Cheyenne Waldrep, William Waldrep, and Grayson Napier; great grandchildren, Cannon Christy, Aria Pinegar, and one on the way; and beloved Yorkie, Tex, who went with him everywhere. Visitation was held Friday, Aug. 18, 2023, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Central Funeral Home in Manchester. Funeral services were conducted Saturday, Aug. 19, 2023, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Central Funeral Home. Burial follow at Hillsboro Methodist Cemetery.
