Coffee County Fair continues through Saturday

The Coffee County Fair, running full bore through Saturday, Sept. 9, is not over by far, with the second half bringing more shows, more contests, live wrestling, the mule race, followed by a mud race.

Wednesday’s gates open at 4 p.m. On tap will be renowned local country singer/songwriter Macy Tabor and the electric county band Double Shot.

Senior Day events start at 9 a.m. on Wednesday.

Thursday’s main events are Southern States Wrestling at 6 p.m. with ladies night to follow. The junior cattle show will also be at 6 p.m.

Friday is youth field day from 10-11 a.m., Ice cream contests at 2 p.m., the beard and mullet contest at 5 p.m. and the mud race at the track at 7 p.m.

Saturday will feature the dog and pet show at 9 a.m., youth pedal pull at 11:30 a.m. and the watermelon eating contest at 2 p.m.

Saturday’s livestock shows kickoff at 11:30 a.m.

John is a 1994 graduate of Tullahoma High School, a graduate of Motlow State Community College and earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from Middle Tennessee State University.
