For the third time this season the Red Raiders were shut out. Coffee fell to Page 28-0 on Friday, Sept. 15. The Raiders started receiving but ended the drive with Manny Gonzales punting.

Page followed with a long drive capped with a touchdown with 5:45 on the clock. After another unsuccessful Coffee drive, Page managed a 74-yard passing touchdown on the second play of their next possession. By the second quarter, Page was up 14-0.

Coffee’s offensive drive ran through the first to the second but remained unfruitful. During the next Page drive, Tyler Martin intercepted the ball in the endzone, but the score remained unchanged. Page still led 14-0 at the half.

Page tacked on another touchdown with 5:45 left on the clock in the third quarter. Shortly after they found the endzone again to finalize the score 28-0. Neither team scored in the fourth.

Head Coach Roger Haynes commented, “Defense played a really, really good game against the best offensive team in Class 5A. Our offense just has so many people hurt that we can’t operate. Page is also great at defense. They’re big, strong, physical. When you don’t have your #1 skill people in the game available, (we were missing several people tonight) we just couldn’t operate.”

Next week on Friday, Sept. 22 Coffee will host a tough Riverdale team on Homecoming night. The game will start at 7 p.m.
