A man in an electric wheelchair was struck and killed on Highway 41 Wednesday night.

According to the report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol, on Wed, Oct. 4, at around 7 p.m. Ronald Randolph, 62, was operating his electric wheelchair on County Farm Road.

A 2018 Nissan Altima, driven by Shelby York, 27, was traveling south on Highway 41A when Randolph attempted to cross the highway in a dark, unlit area, and entered the path of the Altima and was struck by the vehicle.

York was uninjured and there are no pending charges.
