Westwood begins long road game tour

The Westwood basketball teams began a long stint of road games by splitting the Cascade Champions on Monday night.
The Lady Rockets started their game well, and led the Champions 9-7 after the first quarter.
However, the Champions outscored Westwood 14-4 in the second quarter to lead 21-13 at the half.
Westwood tried to chip away in the third, down 24-19 heading into the fourth, but Cascade outscored the Lady Rockets 12-5 in the final frame and win the game 36-24.
Scoring for the Lady Rockets were Zallona Dillard with 10 points, Kylie Evans with four points, Jerzee Ferrell, Allison Russ and Amelia Johnson each had three and Shaylee Meadows added one more.
On the boys side, the Rockets started the road trip off well.
The game was pretty close in the first half as the visiting Rockets led 8-5 after the first quarter, then led 15-10 at the half.
In the third quarter, the Rocket put some distance between themselves and the Champions, outscoring Cascade 17-4 in the third quarter for a 32-14 lead heading into the fourth where they put the game on ice for a 42-25 win.
Scoring for The Rockets were Brady Christian with 15 points, Isaiah Buchanan with seven, Mason Troxler with six, Caleb Hill with five, Kaden Ingle with four, Zeke Jones with three and Bridger Gray with two.
Westwood Basketball will be back in action on Wednesday, Nov. 8 as they make a trip to Tullahoma East.
