Coffee Middle splits rematch against Warren

On Thursday night, the Lady Raiders picked up a season sweep of the Lady Pioneers while the Red Raiders fell in the second half against Warren County.

The Lady Raiders picked up win #15 with another dominant performance.

Coffee quickly went to the lead in the first quarter, going up 21-7, including eight first quarter points from Addalyn Clark.

The Lady Raiders slowed down in the second quarter, outscoring the Lady Pioneers 8-7 for a 29-14 halftime lead.

The Lady Raiders continued to pour it on the third, outscoring Warren 16-6 with Hayleigh Harris scoring nine points in the quarter as Coffee led 45-20 going into the fourth where they closed out the game to win, 52-27.

Scoring for the Lady Raiders were Addalyn Clark with 17 points, Hayleigh Harris with 14 points, Avery Pruitt with 11 points, Jenslee Nogodula with five points, Kinsley Pruitt with three points and Maddie Scott with two points.

On the other side, the Red Raiders kept it close through three quarters, but couldn’t overcome the Pioneers.

Warren County would lead 8-4 after the first quarter, then the points were mirrored in the second quarter with Coffee outscoring Warren 8-4 and the halftime score was knotted at 12-12.

The Pioneers outscored the Red Raiders 10-9 in the third quarter, and would lead 22-21 heading into the fourth, where they would outscore the Red Raiders 12-5 and win the game, 34-26.

Scoring for the Red Raiders were Jaxon Pruitt with 10 points, Warren Simmons with six points, Landyn Stiefel with five points, Jack Oliver with three points and Jerrad Morgan with two points.

Coffee Middle Basketball returns next Thursday, Dec. 14 against Cannon County.
