Coffee County swim teams celebrate Seniors and Eighth Graders

On Friday, Dec. 15, Coffee County’s swim teams honored their high school seniors and eight graders at a meet at Manchester Recreation Center.
The two senior swimmers that were recognized were Ansley Beachboard of Coffee County Central High and Isaac Lee of Grace Academy.
Of the eighth grade members recognized there was Jacob Bolin, Jocelyn Celedonio, Hollee Gragg, Hayleigh Johnson, Levi McBride and Addison Mullican of Coffee County Middle and Alex Dolack, Karsyn Riddle and Sydney Shelton of Westwood Middle.
There were 22 different events on the night, with four of them being relay events.
In the women’s 200-yard medley relay, Grace Academy placed first with Franklin County High in second, Westwood Middle in third, Coffee Central in fourth and Coffee Middle School sixth.
In the men’s 200-yard medley relay, Coffee County Central placed first with Franklin County High in second and Coffee Middle in third.
In the women’s 200-yard freestyle relay, Franklin County High placed first with Coffee County Central in second, Westwood Middle in third and Coffee Middle in fourth.
In the men’s 200-yard freestyle relay, Coffee County Central placed first with Franklin County High in second and Coffee Middle in third.
For Coffee County Central, the best finishers in the individual events were Elsie Lazalier, who placed first in the women’s 200-yard freestyle, Jacob Bradley, who placed second in both the men’s 50-yard freestyle and 500-yard freestyle events, Jack Stowe, who placed second in both the men’s 100-yard butterfly and 100-yard backstroke and Raiden Hiles, who placed second in the men’s 200-yard individual medley.
Finishing well for the Middle School Red Raiders were Hayleigh Johnson, who placed fourth overall (first in middle school) in the women’s 50-yard freestyle, Avery Moore, who placed third overall (first in middle school) in the men’s 100-yard freestyle and Jacob Bolin, who placed third overall (first in middles school) in the men’s 50-yard freestyle.
The best finishers for Westwood were Avory Gilday, who placed first in the women’s 500-yard freestyle, Alex Dolack, who placed second overall (first in middle school) in the men’s 100-yard breaststroke, and third overall (first in middle school) in the men’s 100-yard backstroke.
For Grace Academy High School, Jaci Howlett placed first in both the women’s 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard backstroke, Rosalea Buchanan placed first in the women’s 200-yard individual medley, Bethany Ashburn placed first in the women’s 100-yard butterfly, Addison Yates placed first in the women’s 100-yard breaststroke, Ryan Brown, who placed first in both the men’s 200-yard freestyle and 500-yard freestyle and Isaac Lee, who placed first in both the men’s 100-yard butterfly and 100-yard backstroke.
The top swimmer for Grace Academy Middle School was Alyssa Yates, who placed first in the women’s 100-yard freestyle and second overall (first in middle school) in the 200-yard freestyle.
The next swim meet for Coffee County’s swim teams will take place on Tuesday, Jan. 9 at D.W Wilson Community Center in Tullahoma.
