Barlow, Myers and Jennings place first in Red Hawk Rampage

On Saturday, the Red Raider Wrestling team took part in the Red Hawk Rampage at Stewarts Creek where several wrestlers placed for Coffee County.

On the boys side, Jacob Barlow placed first in the 157 pound division by beating Eagleville’s Thomas Solomon by a decision in the championship round and Blayne Myers placed first in the 285 pound division championship with a win over Creek Wood’s Andrew Grove by a fall.

Also placing for the Red Raider boys were Austin Green, who placed second in the 144 pound division after losing to Logan Brown of Kirkwood in the championship round by a technical fall and Ian Walker, who placed fourth in the 190 pound division after losing the third place match to Eagleville’s Houston Retting on an ultimate tiebreaker.

Here is a rundown of where the rest of the Red Raider boys finished:

106 pound division – Giddian Mascari lost in the second round of the consolation bracket.

120 pound division – Clayton Centeno lost in the third round of the consolation bracket.

126 pound division – Sean Sanders lost in the second round of the consolation bracket. 

132 pound division – Carlos Valle-Martinez lost in the second round of the consolation bracket.

138 pound division – Owen Shelton lost in the first round of the consolation bracket.

150 pound division – Eli McLean lost in the third round of the consolation bracket.

165 pound division – Zachary Warrick lost in the first of consolation.

175 pound division – Tommy Miller lost in the third round of the consolation bracket.

215 pound division – Kaleb Dodson lost in the semifinals of the consolation bracket to Caleb Taylor of Stewarts Creek by a decision.

The Red Raider Boys placed fourth in the tournament as a team with 132 points.

On the girls side, Ellysia Jennings placed first in the 185 pound division after beating Clarksville’s Atiana Atkins on a medical forfeit.

Also placing for the Coffee County girls were Jade Lenhart, who placed second in the 165 pound division after losing to Montgomery Central’s Cearyona O’Connor by a fall in the championship match, Jasmine Norris, who placed third in the 114 pound division after beating Franklin County’s Charley Evans by a fall in the third place match and Sara Crosslin, who placed third in the 145 pound division after beating Kirkwood’s Katalina Ramos by a fall in the third place match.

Here’s a breakdown of where the rest of the Red Raider girls finished:

120 pound division – Payton Robertson lost in the third round of the consolation bracket.

132 pound division – Gabriella Silva lost in the third round of consolation bracket.

138 pound division – Jianna Bare lost in the third round of the consolation bracket. 

152 pound division – Lillee Evans lost in the second round of the consolation bracket and Estrella Armeta lost in the second round of the consolation bracket.

The Red Raider girls placed fifth in the tournament with 101 points.

Coffee County Wrestling returns to action on Tuesday, Jan. 9 at Oakland.
