On Thursday night at Stewarts Creek Middle School, the Coffee Middle Lady Raiders defeated the Brentwood Lady Vikings to move on to the AAA Section 2 Final.

The Lady Raiders would charge ahead at the start, leading 12-8 after the first quarter.

Coffee would add to their lead in the second quarter, outscoring the Lady Vikings 10-5 to lead 22-13 at the half.

Both teams came flying out of the halftime break, scoring 11 points apiece as the Lady Raiders stayed in front 33-24 heading into the fourth quarter.

The Lady Vikings would try and fight back in the fourth quarter, but the Lady Raiders held the lead, winning the game, 40-32.

“The girls stepped up and hit their shots better than they did last night,” said Coach David Vinson. “We continued to play good defense against another good team and we played an all-round good team game. It’s a huge privilege to get to play for a Sectional Championship tomorrow night.”

Scoring for the Lady Raiders were Addalyn Clark with 13 points, Hayleigh Harris with 10 points, Jenslee Nogodula with nine points, Avery Pruitt with six points and Brylyn McAdams with two points.

The Coffee Middle Lady Raiders take their 24-0 record into the AAA Section 2 Final and they will play Blackman at 5:00 pm on Friday, Feb. 2 at Stewarts Creek Middle School.
