On Friday, Coffee County’s Ellysia Jennings placed first in the TSSAA Region 2 Girls Championships at Franklin County High School as two other Red Raiders qualified for State.

Jennings placed first in the 185 pound division after defeating Cleveland’s Diamond Young by a decision in the first place match.

Also placing for Coffee County were Jasmine Norris, who won the third place match of the 114 pound division by a fall over McMinn County’s Erika Torbett, and Jade Lenhart, who placed fourth in the 165 pound division after losing the third place match to Warren County’s Marley Harris by a fall.

Here’s a rundown of where the other three wrestlers for Coffee County placed:

120 pound division: Payton Robertson lost in the consolation semifinals by a fall.

132 pound division: Jianna Bare lost in the second round of the consolation bracket by a fall.

145 pound division: Sara Crosslin lost in the consolation semifinals by a fall.

Ellysia Jennings, Jasmine Norris and Jade Lenhart qualified for the State Championships which will take place on Feb. 22-24 at the Williamson County Ag Expo Center.
