On Tuesday, the Red Raiders dropped one to Siegel, 12-3, the Lady Raiders beat Franklin County 6-2, the Rockets beat Cascade in a 7-6 nail-biter, and the Lady Rockets shutout Moore County 10-0.
CCMS Red Raiders: 3, Siegel Cavaliers: 12
Coffee County started the game out well, taking a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning as a Landyn Stiefel bunt sent Augie Lynch home for a score.
However, the Cavaliers scored six runs in the top of the third to take the lead and they would add another three runs in the fourth to lead 9-1 through three and a half innings.
The Red Raiders would add a run in the bottom of the fourth on a Kanon Creek single that sent Warren Simmons home to make the score 9-2.
Each team would add another run in the fifth inning as Rylan Abellana scored on a Jaxon Pruitt single for Coffee County, but Siegel would add on another two runs in the seventh inning and go on to win, 12-3, outhitting the Red Raiders 16-7.
Jaxon Pruitt had two hits and an RBI, Landyn Stiefel and Kanon Creek each had a hit an RBI and Augie Lynch, Warren Simmons and Rylan Abellana each registered a hit.
The Red Raiders will visit Stewarts Creek on Wednesday, March 12 at 4:30 pm.
CCMS Lady Raiders: 6, Franklin County Lady Rebels: 2
After a scoreless first two innings, the Lady Rebels would strike first with a run in the third inning to lead 1-0.
The Lady Raiders would tie the game in the fourth inning as Briley Jernigan singled on a ground ball that sent Bailey Hale home to make the score 1-1.
Coffee County poured on three runs in the fifth inning, with Payton Thomas scoring on an Allie Raines Single and Jernigan driving in McKenzie Shelton and Bailey Hale on a fly ball to left field to make the score 4-1.
Franklin County scored another run in the sixth inning to make the score 4-2, but the Lady Raiders scored two more times in the seventh inning as Jernigan doubled and sent Hale and Raines home to make the final score 6-2.
Jernigan finished with three hits and five RBIs, Raines had two hits and an RBI and Shelton, Thomas along with Genna Sadler each had one hit.
Jernigan also had a busy night in the circle, pitching five innings, allowing two runs on six hits and striking out four batters on 78 pitches.
The Lady Raiders will host Franklin County on Thursday, March 14 at 5:00 pm.
Westwood Rockets: 7, Cascade Champions: 6
The Rockets won their second game against Cascade in as many nights as Westwood won on a walkoff in the seventh inning.
Cascade scored the game’s first run in the first inning to lead 1-0, then Westwood scored three runs in the third with Tucker Linzey sending Trey Sullivan and Davion Dycus in for a score on a triple and Linzey scoring himself on a passed ball, giving Westwood a 3-1 lead.
The score remained the same until the fifth inning, as Cascade retook the lead with three runs to lead 4-3.
Cascade would add another two runs in the top of the sixth to make the score 6-3, but the Rockets scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth with Brady Christian running in for a score, CJ Chavis scoring on a wild pitch and Jaythan Finchum scoring on a Sullivan single to tie the game at 6-6 heading into the seventh, where Chavis scored on a Brock Christian walk-off single to give the Rockets a 7-6 win.
Sullivan finished with three hits and an RBI, Linzey finished with one hit and two RBIs, Hayes Shemwell finished with an RBI and Davion Dycus, Mason Hastings and Brock Christian each finished with one hit apiece.
Hastings pitched five innings, allowing four runs on five hits and striking out four batters on 76 pitches, but it would be Dycus getting credit for the win after pitching two innings, allowing two runs on three hits and striking out three batters on 37 pitches.
Westwood will host Winchester Christian on Thursday, March 14 at 5:30 pm.
Westwood Lady Rockets: 10, Moore County Radierettes: 0
The Westwood Lady Rockets got their first win of the season after a dominant, 10-0 win over Moore County in which the Lady Rockets outhit the Raiderettes, 14-2.
Shaylee Meadows scored three runs on three hits, Kylie Evans scored two runs and batted in two more on three hits, Kinsleigh Parson scored a run and had one RBI on two hits, Mia Ahlijah had one run and an RBI on one hit, Addie Teal scored one run and a registered two hits, Annie Carden scored a run and Maddie Scott had two RBIs on three hits.
Scott would get the win in the circle, pitching all four innings and allowing just two hits while striking out 10 batters on 52 pitches.
The Lady Rockets will play at Community on Thursday, March 14 at 5:30 pm.
