Red Raiders split two games in Joe Adams Memorial Tournament

On Saturday, the Coffee County Red Raiders took part in the Joe Adams Memorial Tournament at Walker Valley High School, losing to Cleveland 14-4 and beating Walker Valley 6-4.
Coffee County Red Raiders: 4, Cleveland Blue Raiders: 14
The Red Raiders would control the first two innings of the game, outscoring Cleveland 3-1, but the Blue Raiders took over in the third inning, scoring five runs to take the lead, 5-3.
Each team would score a run in the fourth inning, but Cleveland erupted for seven runs in the fifth to win the game in a mercy rule, 14-4.
For the Red Raiders, Nate Rutledge had two RBIs on two hits, Cole Pippenger had an RBI on two hits, Jayden Fellers had an RBI and Brendon Sheppard and Trevor Jesse each had one hit.
Davis McKenzie would be credited with the loss, allowing two runs on three hits.
Coffee County Red Raiders: 6, Walker Valley Mustangs: 4
The Red Raiders would control this game through the first four innings, piling up a 6-0 lead.
Walker Valley would score three runs in the fifth inning to cut the lead in half, 6-3, then add another run in the bottom of the seventh, but the Red Raiders held off the charge by the Mustangs to end their four game skid, 6-4.
Jayden Fellers would have two RBIs on one hit, Cole Pippenger and Brady Daugherty each had an RBI on one hit, and Trey Turner, Brendon Sheppard and Trevor Jesse each had a hit for Coffee County.
Isaiah Deadman would get credit for the win, pitching four innings, allowing two hits, striking out two batters and walking one on 57 pitches.
The Red Raiders are now 4-6 on the season and will play at Warren County on Monday, Mar. 25 at 6:30 pm.
