Lady Raiders shutout Shelbyville

On Saturday afternoon, the CCCHS Lady Raiders won their fourth straight game with a 14-0 win over the Shelbyville Central Golden Eagles at Terry Floyd Field.
The Lady Raiders would control the game right from the start, as Willow Carden scored on a Savannah Cooper double, and Cooper, along with Jalyn Moran, scored on a passed ball to give Coffee County a 3-0 lead in the first inning.
Coffee County carried that momentum into the second inning, scoring five runs, including a triple by Moran that scored three.
Cooper would hit another double in the top of the third inning that drove in two runs, and the Lady Raiders took a commanding, 10-0 lead.
The Lady Raiders would pour on another four runs in the top of the fourth inning and go on to win the game 14-0.
Savannah Cooper would have two hits and three RBIs, Jalyn Moran had one hit and three RBIs, Willow Carden and Chesnie Cox each had two hits and one RBI, Madison Pruitt had one hit and one RBI, Paisley Campbell had one RBI and Ella Arnold, along with Riley Phillips each had one hit for Coffee County.
Lily Norman would again get credit for the win in the circle, pitching four innings, allowing just one hit, striking out six batters and walking one on 62 pitches. Yeidy Cruz would pitch an inning in relief, allowing just two hits on 16 pitches.
With their fourth shutout win of the season, the Coffee County Lady Raiders have now won four games in a row and five of their last six.
The Lady Raiders will continue district play at Columbia Central on Tuesday, Apr. 16 at 7:00 pm.
