Red Raider Soccer sweeps Lincoln County

On Thursday night, the Red Raiders again emerged victorious over Lincoln County with a 1-0 win in Fayetteville.

After a chaotic first meeting between these two teams on Monday, the Red Raiders set their sights on a season sweep over Lincoln County in Thursday night’s game.

The first half would be pretty quiet as no team could break through for a score and after 40 minutes of play, the score was knotted at 0-0.

Seven minutes into the second half, the Red Raiders broke the tie as Cayden Trail scored his eighth goal of the season to put the Red Raiders up 1-0. Joel Barrera would get credit for the assist, putting his season total at six.

Lincoln County would have plenty of chances to score in the late stages of the game, but the Red Raiders, and their goalie Brayden Trail, would keep the Falcons scoreless to leave Fayetteville with a win.

The Red Raiders improved to 10-1-3 on the season and will play host to Columbia Central for their final district contest of the regular season on Friday, Apr. 26 at 7:00 pm.
