On Friday night, the CCMS Lady Raiders beat the Stewarts Creek Lady Falcons 4-1 and the Red Raiders edged out the Mill Creek Mavericks 2-0 as both Coffee County Middle School Teams advanced to the Section Semifinals.

CCMS Lady Raiders: 4, Stewarts Creek Lady Falcons: 1

The Lady Falcons would strike first with a run in the top of the first inning, but the Lady Raiders quickly answered in the bottom of the inning as Bailey Hale scored on a single by Briley Jernigan to tie the score at 1-1.

No team would score in the second inning, then the Lady Raiders scored three times in the bottom of the third inning to take a 4-1 lead, including a two-run home run by Allie Raines.

The Lady Raiders would hold on for the win, outhitting the Lady Falcons 12-5.

For Coffee County, Payton Thomas had two hits and one RBI, Allie Raines had one hit and two RBIs, Briley Jernigan had one hit and one RBI, Bailey Hale had three hits, Genna Sadler had two hits and Maggie Bailey and Paige Chilton had one hit each.

Briley Apicella earned the win in the circle, pitching seven innings, allowing one run on five hits and striking out three batters on 77 pitches.

The Lady Raiders will play host to Page in the AA Section 2 Semifinals on Saturday, May 11 at 11:30 am, and a win would put them in the Section Championship Game at 2:00 pm.

CCMS Red Raiders: 2, Mill Creek Mavericks: 0

For the first three innings, neither team could break through for a score, then in the bottom of the fourth inning, the Red Raiders broke the scoreless tie as Landyn Stiefel scored on a single by Mason Floyd to give Coffee County a 1-0 lead.

The Red Raiders would double their lead in the bottom of the fifth inning with Ethan Reed scoring on a single by Augie Lynch to make the score 2-0.

Coffee County would hold on for the 2-0 win and advance to the Section Semifinals.

For the Red Raiders, Augie Lynch and Mason Floyd each had one hit and one RBI and Jaxon Pruitt, along with Rylan Abellana each had one hit apiece.

Lynch would get the win on the mound, striking out six batters and walking four on 82 pitches. Jaxon Pruitt and Ethan Arnold each made a relief appearance and all three pitchers combined for a team no-hitter.

The Red Raiders will play host to Blackman in the AA Section 2 Semifinals on Friday, May 10 at 9:00 am, and a win would put them in the Section Championship Game at 2:00 pm.
