Lady Raiders fall in Region Semifinals

On Monday night, the CCCHS Lady Raiders softball season came to a close after a 10-4 loss at Nolensville in the 4A Region 5 Semifinals.

The game would go scoreless in the first inning, then in the bottom of the second inning, the Knights scored three runs on a line drive double to take a 3-0 lead.

Coffee County would answer with two runs in the top of the third with Madison Pruitt scoring on a line drive double by Willow Carden and Chesnie Cox scoring on a sacrifice fly by Jalyn Moran to make it a 3-2 ball game.

Nolensville would add to their lead in the bottom of the fourth inning, scoring four runs to take a commanding 7-2 lead.

The Lady Raiders would score twice in the top of the fifth inning, as Madison Pruitt scored on a triple by Chesnie Cox and then Cox would score single by Willow Carden to make the score 7-4, but the Knights scored three more times in the bottom of the fifth inning and went on to win the game 10-4.

For the Lady Raiders, Willow Carden had two hits and two RBIs, Chesnie Cox had two hits and one RBI, Madison Pruitt had one hit and Jalyn Moran had one RBI.

Lily Norman would take the loss in the circle, pitching six innings, allowing 10 runs on eight hits, striking out four batters and walking eight on 138 pitches.

With the loss, the 2024 Coffee County Lady Raiders Softball Season comes to a close with a 19-16 overall record.
