Event to be held at Rotary Park
After months of planning and preparation, The Manchester Rotary Club will host its inaugural Classic Car Show Saturday June 22 at Rotary Park in Manchester.
The show, which welcomes all makes and models of vehicles, will begin with vehicle registration from 9-11 a.m. Judging will follow from noon until 2 p.m. Awards include Top 10, Kids Choice and Best of Show. The cost to register a vehicle is $10
The event will serve as a fundraiser for school supplies for area students and teachers.
“The Manchester Rotary Club has a rich history of community service,” Rotary President Elect Marianne Myers said. “With some members having experience in organizing car shows, the event is a nod to the timeless appeal of classic cars, bringing people together for a fun-filled day that also supports a great cause.”
In addition to awards, the event will also feature MC and music by Thunder Radio, raffle giveaways, a silent auction, Kids Zone, Pet Zone and The Merc Too food truck and ice cream for sale.
“While this marks the starting point for this initiative, our long-term vision is to establish the Rotary Car Show as an annual signature event that showcases Rotary’s dedication to community service and makes a lasting impact on the lives of those we serve,” Myers said.
While the Rotary Car Show will serve as a fundraiser, it also provides a way for the longtime Manchester organization to provide the community with a fun event, as well as an opportunity to let area residents learn more about Rotary Club and its role in the community.
Myers said Rotary Club has benefitted significantly from both businesses and individuals in the Manchester community who have provided both financial support and donated items for the event.
“We have had outstanding support from our community partners, who have generously contributed to the success of our event,” she said. “Our event sponsors provided the essential startup funds: DOT Foods, Ben Walker Insurance, Coffee County Bank, Silver Lining Signs, C.A.R.S.”
