Express Oil Change/Tire Engineers site approved

John Coffelt, Editor

A site plan was approved by the Manchester Planning Commission at the June 17 meeting for a Express Oil Change and tire shop to be located at 2569 Hillsboro Boulevard.

According to information presented to the Commission, the business will feature a quick service facility with three bays to be located at the front of the property. The structures behind that will be a full service auto care facility with five bays.

Express, started in Birmingham, Ala. in 1979, does not do major automotive work like engine replacement. Most repairs will be completed by the end of day.

The facility will be located across from Walmart .

Commission recommends Hospitality Blvd. site annex

The Planning Commission also approved at the meeting a recommendation for the annexation of an unrelated property just past the Manchester Coffee County Conference Center on Hospitality Road.

The wooded property, about 13.63 acres in size, to be zoned C-2 Commercial, is owned by JJ Manchester LLC., listed with a Knoxville address.

According to the zoning request for the property, the use of the property will be for a hotel.

The annex is expected to come before the Board of Mayor and Aldermen in August.
