Hunt elected county mayor; Hobbs city mayor

Coffee County Interim Mayor Dennis Hunt beat challengers David Nipper and Roxanne Patton in the August 1 race for county mayor.
The unofficial final results show Hunt gathered 3,819 votes to Nipper’s 380 and Patton’s 2,025.
In the Manchester Mayor’s race Joey Hobbs garnered 661 votes, topping Bill Nickels’ 464 votes and Bob Bellamy’s 309 votes.
In a much tighter alderman race, incumbent Julie Anderson took a strong lead with 686 votes, incumbent Ryan French receiving 507 and James Threet getting the third open seat with 490, beating Wilma Thomas by three votes.
In the Tullahoma Mayor’s landslide race, County Commissioner Lynn Sebourn grabbed 1,986 votes to Kurt Glick’s 443 and Petros Pisinos’ 141. Scott Shasteen, who withdrew from the race but was still on the ballot received 140 votes.
In non-contested local races, Dowe Jones (454 votes) will be County Commissioner for District 1, Roger Chambers (611 votes) County Commissioner District 2. Assessor of Property Elissa Fletcher received 5,283 votes. Road Commissioner Seat 2 District 4 will be Arlis Markum with 501 votes.
County School Board Member Seat 1 Districts 1,3,4 was Holly J Matthews with 1,373 votes, County School Board Member Seat 2 Districts 2,6,7 were Gary Cordell (1,097) and Scott Hansert (1,022), and County School Board Seat 3 Districts 5,8,9 were Robert Gilley (1,817) and Beth Yentsch (1,544).
Randal Braker received 2,160 votes for Constable Seat 3 Districts 5,8,9.
Manchester City School Board race was uncontested with Susan Parsley (1,057) and Lee Sullivan (989) retaining their seats.
