On Thursday, Aug. 1, Tint Tek became the latest champions in the Manchester Youth Baseball League, winning the 15U Tournament Championship Game 12-4 over Mid-State Towing.
Tint Tek raced out to an early lead in the first inning, as a ground ball by William Vinson caused the Mid-State defense to commit an error, allowing Tucker Linzey and Elijah Alexander to score the first runs of the game and give Tint Tek a 2-0 advantage. Tint Tek would score three more times to take a 5-0 lead through the top of the first.
Mid-State Towing would try to cut the deficit in the bottom of the inning, as Grayson Sadler scored on a line drive double by Elijah Vernon and Vernon would score on a ground out by Noah Williams to make the score 5-2 through the first full inning of play.
Tint Tek would add to their lead in the next two innings, scoring once in the second and twice in the third to increase their lead to 8-2. After a scoreless fourth inning, Tint Tek piled on another four runs in the fifth to make the score 12-2.
Mid-State would score twice in the bottom of the fifth inning, but it would be too little too late as Tint Tek held on to win 12-4 and capture the 15U Title.
William Vinson had three RBIs in the game for Tint Tek, while Luke Wilson earned the win on the mound pitching all five innings, allowing four runs on five hits, striking out six batters and walking five on 96 pitches.
The roles were reversed in the regular season standings, as Mid-State Towing placed first while Tint Tek finished as runners-up.
