On Thursday night, the Coffee Middle Lady Raiders battled back from a first set loss to beat Community.

The visiting Viqueens would take the first set with a narrow 27-25 win, but the Lady Raiders answered back with a 25-12 victory in the second set to force a third set.

Both teams appeared to be evenly matched in the third set, with the score being tied 6-6 at one point, but Coffee County would outscore Community 9-2 the rest of the way to win the set 15-8 and claim a 2-1 victory for the game.

The junior varsity squad also picked up a victory, winning their match 2-0 with a 25-17 win in the first set and a 25-23 win in the second set.

The Lady Raiders volleyball team will be back in action on Monday, Aug. 12 when they play host to Tullahoma with the junior varsity teams starting things off at 5 p.m. and varsity action to follow.
