On Monday night, the Westwood Lady Rockets lost their season opener to Eagleville in two sets while the Coffee Middle Lady Raiders picked up a two set victory over Tullahoma.

Westwood kicked off their 2024 season at Joel Vinson Gymnasium against Eagleville.

The first set looked pretty even at the start with the score being tied 9-9 at one point, but Eagleville was able to pull away and win 25-13.

Eagleville would dominate the second set with another 25-13 victory to win the match 2-0.

Westwood’s junior varsity squad came up just short in their match. After losing the first set, the JV Lady Rockets came back from being a few points down to win the second set 26-24 and force a third set.

The third set would be just as close, but the JV Lady Eagles were able to win 15-13.

Westwood Volleyball will be back in action on Wednesday, Aug. 14 at Cascade with the junior varsity match starting at 4:30 p.m.

CCMS Lady Raiders

The Lady Raiders improved their season record to 2-0 after beating Tullahoma at home in a two set win.

Meanwhile, Coffee County’s JV squad would lose 2-1 in their match.

The Coffee Middle Lady Raiders will be back at home on Wednesday, Aug. 14 when they play host to Harris with junior varsity action starting at 5 p.m.
