Republican party to hold caucus for vacant commission seats

The Coffee County Republican Party will conduct a caucus at 5 p.m. on Sept. 5, 2024 at the Coffee County Administrative Plaza Community Room to select candidates for Coffee County Commission Districts 2 and 6 for the Nov. 5 General Election ballot.
The caucus will be held at the Community Room of the Coffee County Administrative Plaza at 1327 McArthur Sr.
Registration of voters begins at 5 p.m., with the caucus starting at 6 p.m. Those desiring to register and vote in the caucus must bring identification (driver’s license or voter registration card) for review by a Contest and Credentials Committee.
Only “bona fide Republicans” as defined by the Bylaws of the Tennessee Republican Party (“Bylaws”) are allowed to participate and vote in the caucus. Pursuant to Article IX, Section 1(A)(1) of the Bylaws, a “bona fide Republican” is an individual “… who has voted in at least three (3) of the four (4) most recent statewide Republican primary elections…”
Republicans who were not of legal age and unable to vote in three of the last four primary elections can obtain approval to participate from a State Executive Committee member the night of the caucus.
District 2 citizens typically vote at Trinity Baptist Church and District 6 citizens typically vote at the Manchester Conference Center or the Hillsboro Community Center.
