Lady Raiders go 2-3 in Southern Slam

On Saturday, Sept. 21 the Coffee County County Lady Raiders played host to the Dream for Weave Southern Slam.
The Tournament was used as a fundraiser for the team with a portion of the proceeds going to the Dream for Weave Foundation.
Including Coffee County, 20 teams split into five pools of four participated in the event, with games taking place at Coffee County Central High School, Coffee County Middle School and Raider Academy.
Coffee County went 1-2 in their three pool play games at CCHS, losing 2-0 to the HVA Hawks (lost 25-23, lost 25-22), winning 2-0 over the Cascade Champions (won 25-18, won 25-15) and losing 2-1 to the Fayetteville Tigers (won 25-17, lost 25-19, lost 15-7).
The Lady Raiders were then placed in the Silver Division bracket, where they beat Grundy County in the semifinal, then lost to 3A District 9 rival Lawrence County in the championship match at Raider Academy.
The Lady Raiders are now 12-11 on the season and will travel to Lincoln County for their next match on Tuesday, Sept. 24.
