Red Raider golf places second at Regionals

On Monday, the Red Raiders placed second in the AA Region 4 Tournament at Golden Eagle Golf Club with Jack Stowe and Noah Costello each earning a trip to the State Tournament.

Stowe and Costello each carded a 71, good enough to tie for second place individually with Cookeville’s Owen Hill. Landon Collins scored a 78 and Jaxon Phillips turned in a 78 to help give Coffee County a team score of 301, which was good enough for second place in the competition. Levi Rossman managed an 87 in individual scoring for Coffee County.

Cookeville placed first in the tournament with a team score of 297 and Tullahoma rounded out the top three with a score of 302 with their best individual effort coming from Keegan Taylor, who placed first in individual scoring with a 70.

In the girls’ competition, Leah Kate Sullivan scored a 100 and Karsyn Riddle carded a 113 to give Coffee County a team score of 213, which was good enough for fourth place out of five teams.

DeKalb County placed first as a team with a score of 144 and first individually with Alison Poss, who carded a 71.

Jack Stowe and Noah Costello will be representing Coffee County in the State Tournament which will be held Thursday and Friday, Oct. 10-11 at Sevierville Golf Club.
