Lady Raiders fall in District Tournament

The 2024 Coffee County Central Lady Raider volleyball season came to an early end on Tuesday night with a first round District Tournament loss at Lincoln County.
Entering the match, Coffee County was the tournament’s #5 seed while the host Lincoln County Lady Falcons were the #4 seed.
The match’s first set proved to be a great battle between the two teams, with Lincoln County edging ahead 31-29.
Coffee County would win the second set 25-20, tying the match one set apiece.
Lincoln County would pull out another close win in the third set with a 25-21 win, then close things out in the fourth with a decisive, 25-13 win to take the match 3-1.
Savannah Cooper recorded seven of Coffee County’s 15 aces from the service line, Morgen Spears recorded nine kills and Rileigh Russell tallied 11 assists.
With the 3A District 9 Tournament being a single elimination affair, the 2024 season comes to an end for the Coffee County Lady Raiders, who finished the campaign with a 15-14 overall record and a 7-8 mark in district play.
The 3A District 9 Tournament now comes down to four teams, with Spring Hill, Lincoln County, Columbia and Lawrence County all advancing to the semifinals. The two teams that make the championship match will automatically advance to regionals.
