BLACKWELL
Dorothy “Dot” Susan Linville Blackwell, age 74 entered peacefully into her Heavenly home on Saturday, Nov. 16, 2024, at Alive Hospice Residence Nashville, due to a stroke she suffered on Monday, Nov. 11. Dot was born March 2, 1950, in Trinidad, Calif. to the late Robert Lee Linville and Lella Mae King Linville. She grew up on a farm in Dunlap, Tenn. She was the Beloved wife of 42 years to John Henry Blackwell and a resident of Manchester, for 50 years. She was a member of Covenant Fellowship Church in Morrison, for 40 years. She was a Devout Christian, Prayer Warrior and follower of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Dot, as she liked to be called, Loving Wife, Mother, Granny, Great-Granny and “Momma Dot” to many children. She loved life and was always Proud of the accomplishments of “All of Her Children.” She was known and loved by many, whom she cared for, be it by working side by side together in a factory setting as a Seamstress, Baby Sitting many children for over 35 years and being a Sunday School Teacher for 1st and 2nd grade children at church. You could always find her in her favorite and happy place, at the treadle with thread and needle of her sewing machine, making pillowcase dresses for little girls and shirts and shorts for little boys to send to other countries. She was the Head Leader of the Sewing Ministry of Covenant Fellowship Church for many years and taught many to how to sew. Also, loved to watch her grandchildren play sports and loved playing basketball in her younger years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded into Heaven by one Granddaughter, Emily Stacey and Brothers-In-Law, Marcus Lowe, Frank and Wayne Blackwell, Nephew Troy Lowe. Dot is survived by her Husband, John Henry Blackwell of Manchester, her Beloved cat, Sherbert. Her Daughters are Brigetta Blackwell (Abingdon, Va.), Venus Lowery (Brad Roberts) (Lynchburg) and (Bonus Daughter) Shelly Stacey (Tullahoma). Her Son are John “Jay” Stacey and William Blackwell (Manchester), Bonus Sons, Carl Shadrick and Jeremy Stacey (Jasper, Tenn.) Grandchildren are Vanity Womble (Seattle, Wash.), Logan Womble (Kati Charlton) (Tullahoma), Cadance Lowery (Nashville) and Leah Stacey (Tullahoma). Great-Grandchildren are Zoey and Madilyn Womble. Brothers are Michael (Janice) Linville (Hixson, Tenn.) and Larry Linville (Dunlap, Tenn.). Sisters-In-Law are Shirley Lowe (Choctaw, Okla.) and Geraldine Linville Johnson (Dunlap). Her Nephews are Billy Linville, Roger Linville, Raymond Linville, Ronnie Linville, Donnie Blackwell, Jeff Blackwell and Butch Lowe. Nieces are Vivian Haberichter, Jeri Bohanan and Emily Blackwell. Many people have crossed her path of life, she has reared many a child along with her Grandchildren. She had a hand in their care of the following children: Austin, Amber, Crystal, Anissa, Malachi, Mariah, Cheyenne, Shawn, Tori, Brooke, Sean, John, Jesse, Jaiden, Jaida, Nyla, Christian, Josh, Brandi, Andrew, Starr, Zaylon, Tavion, Aeriona, Zach, Alex, Luciano, Jake, Brittney, Dillon and Morgan along with a host of other beloved children over the years. The members of Covenant Fellowship Church were like family to her, brother’s and sister’s they will be missed. The family would love to thank everyone for the Love, Kindness, Prayers and Support you have shared and shown over Mrs. Dot’s life. You will always be in our thoughts and prayers during this time in our lives. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Sewing Ministry of Covenant Fellowship Church, Morrison. Funeral services were at Manchester Funeral Home at 1 p.m., Nov. 21 with Bro. Dean Northcutt officiating. Visitation was from 4-8 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 20. and prior to the funeral service Thursday, Nov. 21 from 11am-1pm). Burial was at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens in Tullahoma.
