Red Raiders beat Cascade, fall to Warren at home

Coffee County Central wrestling played host to Cascade and Warren County on Tuesday night, beating the Champions 47-34 and falling to the Pioneers 50-24 at Raider Academy.

In their dual match against Cascade, Coffee County won eight individual matches; four by a fall, three by forfeit and one by a technical fall. The Red Raiders would lose six individual matches to Cascade, but three of those were by forfeit.

Against Warren County, Aiden Lindsay, Eli McLean, Emmanuel Rodriguez and Zander Warrick each picked up their second wins of the night, but Coffee County would lose nine individual battles to the Pioneers, three of which were by forfeit.

There would only be two matches on the girls side, with Jianna Bare (145) losing to Maya Reagan (Warren) by a fall and Ellysia Jennings (185) beating Allison Sweatman (Warren) by a fall.

The CCHS wrestling team is scheduled to take part in two tournaments over the weekend: the boys will travel to Smyrna for the Dog Pound Duals on Friday, Jan. 17 while the freshman, JV and girls are scheduled to travel to Wilson Central for the MTWOA Grand Championships on Saturday, Jan. 18.
