CCHS wrestling sweeps Senior Night tri-meet

On Tuesday night, the Coffee County Central wrestling team celebrated Senior Night with a 39-36 win over Upperman and a 60-0 win over St. Andrew’s-Sewanee at Raider Academy.
In their first dual of the night with the Upperman Bees, the Red Raiders won seven individual matches, five of which came by a fall. Upperman would win a total of six individual matches, three by fall and three by forfeit. Both teams chose to forfeit the 132-pound weight class.

There would be a lot less action in the second dual of the night against Sewanee, as the Red Raiders won six individual matches by a forfeit, and both schools chose to forfeit the 120, 132, 150 and 190-pound weight classes. In the four individual matches that were actually played out, Coffee County won all of them by a fall.

On the girls side, only one individual match occurred with Jasmine Norris (120) picking up a win in a 17-1 technical fall over Leonora Pate of Sewanee.
The Red Raider wrestling team is scheduled to close out the regular season in a tri-meet at Community alongside Marshall County on Friday, Jan. 31 starting at 6 p.m.
