Most Improved honors were bestowed upon the Coffee County Fair at the annual Tennessee Association of Fairs Convention.

The TAF Convention honors fairs across Tennessee in Divisions A, AA, and AAA with each division being awarded a State champion, First Runner Up, Second Runner Up and Most Improved.

Coffee County competes in Division AAA along with some heavy hitters in the fair community, according to Coffee County Fair Board President Stewart Little.

“We’re in the same category as like Wilson County and the State Fair, so to win Most Improved, that’s a pretty big deal being that Wilson County is a whole lot bigger fair than we are,” said Little.

The Most Improved honors go to the fair who makes the most substantial improvements from one year to the next.

Little said one of the biggest improvements they made before the 2024 fair was replacing all the lighting in the barns and exhibit buildings with LED lighting to lower electricity costs.

He explained that the award was “great.”

“It’s a great accomplishment because we all work hard and the biggest thing about it is it’s volunteer basis,” said Little.

Coffee County previously won the same award in 2023. Little says that improving the fair is something they are constantly trying to do.

“Just improve and to grow and the biggest thing is to promote agriculture,” Little explained about the goals of the fair. “Just updating stuff that needs to be updated.”
