Sullivan signs with Bryan

On Wednesday afternoon, Coffee County senior Leah Kate Sullivan signed her letter of intent to play golf and further her education at Bryan College.

Sullivan cited the school’s Christian foundation as an important aspect of her decision.

“I chose Bryan because it is a Christian-based school,” Sullivan said. “There, you have to have a mandatory amount of chapel hours, and I think having that is going to really help me grow in my faith.”

Sullivan plans on majoring in health and exercise science and she plans on continuing her education after attending Bryan with the hopes of becoming a dental hygienist in the future.

Sullivan’s last season with the CCHS golf team in the fall of 2024 proved to be very memorable and successful, as she and teammate Karsyn Riddle helped give Coffee County a first place finish in the Class AA District 8 Tournament.

“I would say that my favorite memory was when we played in the District Tournament,” she said. “We stayed in a hotel, we ate good food, we made a lot of Tik Tok videos and on top of that, we won the tournament! It was a great memory.”

Sullivan and Riddle would later end the season with a fourth place run in the Class AA Region 4 Tournament.

Upon joining the women’s team at Bryan, Sullivan is looking forward to fitting in with her new teammates as well as improving her skills on the course.

“I think I’ll fit in pretty well there,” she said. “I’m not necessarily the best golfer, but I’ll have a great opportunity to grow my game, especially with the amazing practice facilities they have up there, and maybe I can reach my full potential.”
