ROBERTS

Helen Anita Roberts, age 93 of Manchester, passed from this life on Feb. 26, 2025, following a brief illness. Fondly referred to as “Granny G”, Anita was born on April 6, 1931, in Rockwood, Tenn., Anita was the second born child of parents Clarence and Arizona Rayder. She married Thomas Roberts on November 28, 1952, and together they raised four children. Anita was a homemaker and loved the Lord. Many of her hobbies and likes included, Macrame, cross stitching, working in her flower gardens, singing the gospel, her cats, Tennessee Football, and spending time with her family. Anita is survived by one daughter, Vickie L. Sanders, of Manchester, eight grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great grandchildren. Anita was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Jewel (Rayder) Cates and brother Virgil C. Rayder, Husband, Thomas M. Roberts, two daughters, Janice (Roberts) Arnold and Teresa (Roberts) Overton and one son, Thomas E. Roberts, “Tom Ed”. Visitation and service was held Sunday, March 2, at Manchester Funeral Home, Manchester, with visitation at 10 a.m. -noon and the service beginning at noon. Rev. Donald W. Morris officiated the service. Internment and graveside was at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens New Manchester highway, Tullahoma, TN beginning at around 12:45 p.m. Those who attended visitation, services, or internment, wore their best UT orange in honor and remembrance of “Granny G’s” beloved VOLS football.
