District Double: Lady Raiders beat Pioneers and Eaglettes

The Coffee County Lady Raiders moved to 3-0 in district play after a pair of victories over Warren County and Shelbyville Central last week.
March 18 Vs Warren County
The Lady Raiders took the lead in the early innings and never wavered in an 8-0 shutout win over Warren County on Tuesday evening.
Neither team would score until the bottom of the third inning where Lily Norman singled on a ground ball to center field that drove in Jalyn Moran and Savannah Cooper, giving Coffee County a 2-0 lead.
The score stayed unchanged over the next two innings, then in the bottom of the sixth inning, Paisley Campbell launched a solo shot to left field for her third home run of the season to put the Lady Raiders up 3-0.
A three-run double by Haleigh Skipper doubled Coffee County’s lead to 6-0, and the Lady Raiders would score twice more to go up 8-0, a lead that would stick until the end. The win over the Lady Pioneers marks the third straight shutout win for Coffee County, and their fourth shutout win of the season.
Lily Norman pitched all seven innings for Coffee County, earning her sixth win in as many starts this season.

On Thursday, the Lady Raiders travelled to Shelbyville and picked up their first road victory in district play with a 12-1 clobbering of the Golden Eaglettes.
In the first three innings, the Lady Raiders built up a 4-0 lead, reaching home with the help of two hits from Paisley Campbell and Jalyn Moran as well as two sacrifice flies from Cara Newlin and Ella Arnold.
The Lady Raiders’ three-game shutout streak came to an end in the bottom of the fourth inning with a solo home run hit by Allianna Rippy, but Coffee County would respond with two more runs in the top of the fifth and six runs in the top of the sixth to complete a 12-1 rout.
Junior Yeidy Cruz picked her second win of the season in her third start, pitching in all six innings.

The Lady Raiders improved to 9-3 with the win over the Eaglettes and will take part in the Southern Warrior Classic at Riverdale starting on Thursday, March 27.
