MCINTURFF

Gilbert Stanley McInturff (lovingly known as Pa, Old Man, Mutton Head, and Cousin Gilbert) passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on March 17, 2025. He was born in Franklin County, Tennessee, on October 5, 1946, to the late Samuel and Mary Ruth (Fisher) McInturff. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Eugene, Johnny, and Larry, and his sister, Beth (Bush). Stanley is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Betty (Grosch), and their children, John (Carrie), Amanda, and Daniel (Ashley). Stanley was also a proud Pa and Mutton Head to his grandchildren, Keira, Kati, Elle, and Maddux (Weasel). He is further survived by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. Stanley was a faithful member and elder of the Shady Grove Church of Christ. His devotion to the Lord was evident in everything he did, and he worked to serve Him every day. Stanley’s love for his family was unwavering, and he was often seen at many sporting events, proudly cheering on his grandchildren while telling everyone who would listen about them. He never met a stranger, always ready to strike up a conversation with anyone around him. He found joy in the simple things, particularly being with his family and working on the farm or in the garden. Stanley retired after over 30 years as a rural letter carrier with the United States Postal Service. His smile, laughter, guidance, and love will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Visitation was held on Sunday, March 23, at Manchester Funeral Home from 2 to 5 p.m., and again on Monday, March 24, from 10 a.m. to noon. Funeral services began at noon, with burial to follow at Summitville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Stanley’s memory be made to:
