The Lady Raiders ended the regular season on a high note on Monday evening, beating the Columbia Central Lady Lions 5-2 at home in a game where three different players hit a home run for Coffee County.

Columbia was the first team to strike in the top of the first inning, as Jayden Pendergast reached home plate on a double by Molly Underwood to give the Lions an early 1-0 lead.

The Lady Raiders answered fairly quickly in the bottom of the second inning with Lily Norman’s fourth home run hit of the season, evening the score at 1-1.

In the bottom of the third inning, the Lady Raiders took control. Savannah Cooper and Paisley Campbell rattled off back-to-back solo home runs to put the Lady Raiders ahead 3-1. It was the first home run hit of 2025 for Cooper, and the eighth time that Campbell has hit one over the fence this season.

The Lady Raiders tacked on two more runs in the bottom of the fourth inning; one being scored by Bailey Hale on a ground ball single by Taylor McBride, and the other being scored by McBride on a line drive single by Cara Newlin to make it a 5-1 lead in favor of Coffee County.

Columbia managed to score another run in the top of the sixth inning, but the Lady Raiders kept the Lions at bay to collect a 5-2 win.

Lily Norman, making her 20th start in the circle this season, pitched six whole innings and stuck out 15 batters. Yeidy Cruz pitched one inning in relief and picked up a pair of strikeouts to get credit for a save.

The Lady Raiders end the regular season with a 21-12 overall record and will enter the 4A District 9 Tournament with an 8-2 record in district play.
