FARRAR

James Farrar, age 90, of Manchester, passed away on May 16, 2025, at Vanderbilt Harton Hospital in Tullahoma. He was born on May 13, 1935, in Manchester, to parents, Price and Bertha Farrar. Along with his parents, James is preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Joyce Farrar; daughter, Lisa K. Swann; brothers, Robert Farrar and Marvin Farrar; and sisters, Jeannette Sheets and Ruth Adams. He is survived by his son, Donnie (Gail) Farrar; grandchildren, Jeremy (Sabrina) Keeton, Katie (Josh) Farrar, Brandon (Lili) Harmon; great grandchildren, Jerrick McKnight, and Vera (Damian) Hernandez; great great grandchild, Harper Hernandez; and great nieces, Fara (Scott) Mullins and AB Mullins. During his final year of high school, James joined the military in the Korean War Era in 1954 where he became a paratrooper for the 101st Airborne. He later worked and retired with Carrier Corp. after 20+ years of service. James loved being outside, he would spend time riding his four-wheeler and his lawnmower. He advocated for keeping his lawn in pristine condition. His other passionate hobbies included having great discussions over politics and football, favoring the Tennessee Titans. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. A memorial gathering was scheduled for friends and family on Monday, May 19, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Manchester Funeral Home in Manchester.
