The American Legion hosted the annual flag retirement ceremony on Saturday June 21, at the Coffee County Veterans Building, at 130 Shelton Road in Manchester.  This is a ceremony to respectfully retire worn and tatted flags.  During the ceremony about 400 flags were retired.  This ceremony is open to all.  It is also a learning experience for those who are not aware of how to retire our flags.  Flags are collected specific mail boxes located at 130 Shelton Road, the Fire Station on route 53, on the square by the courthouse and at the Administrative building on route 55.
